学び合い、高め合う
人生でもっとも多感なこの時期に、学校教育で何が行われるべきなのでしょうか。それは、学校教育が終わってから、評価されるものなのでしょう。学校教育の劣等生として知られるアインシュタインの有名な言葉に、次のようなものがあります。
英知とは学校教育の産物ではなく，それを手に入れようと生涯をかけて努力することで産まれる － Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it －
まるで学校教育を否定しているかのようなこの発言に大きなヒントがあります。学校で教えられる「知識」より、その後の人生を生き抜いて、学び続ける姿勢こそが「知性」となる。私が、帝塚山に入学し卒業していく生徒たちに身につけてほしいのは、片々たる知識などよりむしろ、まさにそれぞれの人生を生き抜く力であり、その「姿勢」です。実際に卒業し活躍していった先輩たちが、証明してくれているものでもあります。さあ、帝塚山でいっしょに学び、仲間と高め合いましょう！

What should education truly offer during this most sensitive and formative stage of life?
Albert Einstein—often remembered as a “poor student” in his early school years—is widely quoted as having said:
“Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.”
Though these words may seem to question the value of formal education, they in fact reveal a powerful truth. True wisdom does not come merely from the accumulation of knowledge taught in classrooms, but from a lifelong commitment to seek, to learn, and to grow.
What I hope each of you will gain by enrolling at Tezukayama is not just fragments of knowledge, but the strength and spirit to thrive in your own life’s journey. At Tezukayama, you will cultivate the ability to learn independently and continuously—a power that will sustain you long after you leave our school. This is not merely a hope, but a reality proven by the many remarkable alumni who have gone before you.
So, let us walk this path together. Let us learn, grow, and inspire one another here at Tezukayama.
