一人ひとりを大切に。
人生でもっとも多感なこの時期に、学校教育で何が行われるべきなのでしょうか。学校教育の劣等生として知られるかの天才アインシュタインの有名な言葉に、次のようなものがあります。
「知性とは学校教育の産物ではなく、それを手に入れようと生涯をかけて努力することで産まれる」
まるで学校教育を否定しているかのようなこの言葉に大きなヒントがあります。学校で教えられる「知識」より、その後の人生を生き抜いて、学び続ける姿勢こそが「知性」となる。私が、帝塚山に入学した皆さんに、ぜひとも身につけてほしいのは、片々たる知識よりむしろ、それぞれの人生を生き抜く力です。主体的に学び続ける力、帝塚山ではそれを身につけることが出来ます。実際にこれまでの卒業生たちが証明してくれています。さあ、帝塚山で共に学び、高め合いましょう！

What should education truly offer during this most sensitive and formative stage of life?
Albert Einstein—often remembered as a “poor student” in his early school years—is widely quoted as having said:
“Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.”
Though these words may seem to question the value of formal education, they in fact reveal a powerful truth. True wisdom does not come merely from the accumulation of knowledge taught in classrooms, but from a lifelong commitment to seek, to learn, and to grow.
What I hope each of you will gain by enrolling at Tezukayama is not just fragments of knowledge, but the strength and spirit to thrive in your own life’s journey. At Tezukayama, you will cultivate the ability to learn independently and continuously—a power that will sustain you long after you leave our school. This is not merely a hope, but a reality proven by the many remarkable alumni who have gone before you.
So, let us walk this path together. Let us learn, grow, and inspire one another here at Tezukayama.
